Steven Aycock

Steven Aycock is the Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the City of Atlanta. Mr. Aycock began his work with the City of Atlanta in September of 2018 with the responsibility of continuing the transformation of Atlanta’s Parks and Recreation, specifically, recreation programming and park maintenance in conjunction with Mayor Bottoms’ vision of One Atlanta – an affordable, resilient and equitable Atlanta – which stands as a model city for both commerce and compassion. Mr. Aycock is a leader who is a catalyst for positive change and who fosters an environment of collaboration and teamwork to strengthen strategic alliances between the community and city administration. Prior to joining the City, Mr. Aycock worked with the Arizona Cardinals with the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship serving as an assistant for the offensive Line coach.

In addition, Mr. Aycock has over twenty years of experience in college football as a Head Football Coach and Player Development Director for colleges and universities that include Winston Salem State University, Jackson State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Tennessee State University, and Savannah State University. Mr. Aycock has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Production from Savannah State University and is currently enrolled in Pfeiffer University’s Master of Leadership program.
